LIFE WONDERS – ART COLLECTION EXHIBITION FOR CELEBRATING THE 25th ANNIVERSARY OF TAIKANG INSURANCE GROUP

Exhibition Time: August 22, 2021 - October 8, 2021

“Life Wonders  Art Collection Exhibition for Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Taikang Insurance Group” is curated by Mr. Chen Dongsheng, Chairman and CEO of Taikang Insurance Group, and coordinated by Mr. Ying Weiwei, Assistant President and Secretary of the Board of Taikang Insurance Group, with the curatorial team from Taikang Space.

“Life Wonders” is making its fourth appearance to the public, following its debut at the National Art Museum of China in 2011, a chronological display at the Wanlin Art Museum of Wuhan University in 2015, and in 2019, a thematic exhibition of historical human landscapes since 1942, with institutions as its main body and collections as its driving force for its development. In comparison to previous collection exhibitions, this prelude to the opening of Taikang Art Museum stands out for its longest time and most concentrated theme. It incorporates a wide range of categories such as antique treasures, traditional paintings, and modern and contemporary art, with over fifty percent of the selected works being revealed for the first time.

This exhibition brings together over seventy art pieces, which date back from the ancient Liangzhu culture to contemporary times, integrating various mediums, including antiques, paintings, sculptures, and new media installations. Departing from the traditional historical and medium divisions, the curatorial concept is organized around the artists’ observation and expression of “human beings”, aiming to evoke the audience’s astonishment and resonance with life experiences through the narrative of the exhibition.
